But I've been hearing good things about Paltalk and, apart from being freeware in itself, you can use it to make free long-distance phone calls through your computer. Not strictly free, but I've had such a positive experience here I have to add it.
The Peninsula Animal Aid Pearcedale Victoria (a division of the RSPCA) occasionally run special offers and promotions. For example, around April each year, they've had a discount on cat desexing -- $35 for males and $70 for females, which is WELL below HALF of what you would normally be charged at a traditional Veterinary Practice.
Plus (and I'm speaking from personal experience here), BECAUSE they are a not-for-profit organization, their interests in your pet are NOT purely financial -- they actually CARE about the animals they see. Unbelievable as it may sound, they are actually more interested in the contents of your cat carrier than the contents of your wallet!
Even when the "discount desexing" offer is not available, however you may find other great offers just by asking, or by organising with friends/relatives to bring multiple pets in at once.
There are various RSPCA Veterinary practices around Australia so check for your nearest one -- you may find MUCH better service for MUCH less money than you are currently paying! |
