New in 2008 is Everyday Rewards. This is being rolled out nationwide - most SafewayPlusPetrol outlets now accept the cards, but they're still unrolling where you can GET the cards in the first place! The idea is to make life easier for you by doing away with the Shopper-Docket Fuel vouchers you earn when shopping at Woolworths supermarkets and Big W stores. Instead of hanging onto a paper voucher, which may fade, become crumpled, or flutter away, you simply present your card when you shop, and the fuel discount is loaded onto the card. You then present the card when you buy fuel, and the discount will be applied. Simple!
I'll probably be using a combination of paper vouchers and the new card, for the below reasons.

* The main benefit with paper is that you can check if you have fuel discount credits just by reading your slip of paper, even at the pump right before fuelling. If you have the card and need fuel but aren't sure whether your vouchers have (a) all been used, (b) have expired, or (c) have been used by another family member with a linked card, you have to check online or phone a 1300 number - or go without the discount. |
