- We NOW have ONE HUNDRED AND SIX players so far in the daily Trivia Competition. However, February only had 19 players, which means over half of them made the Hall of Fame!

There was some concern about the Sunday "Aussie" game, so it has been changed slightly to be equally (un)fair to everyone! - Paul Kelly, one of our most prolific and poignant songwriters of all time, has performed a series of unique shows under the banner ‘A to Z’, whereby he sings 100 songs from his catalogue in alphabetical order over 4 nights. Every month, for FREE, one letter’s worth of songs will be available to download from his website.
March is the "O" month. - Heads-up 1: Sunrice Recipe Club are giving away Sunrice samples every day this week - 20 samples per day. You redeem points for samples; points can be earned by submitting Sunrice Barcodes and answering a few questions. You need 50 points for the sample, which is one per household, but you may need more than 50 points for the request to go through - I did!
- Heads-up 2: I was at my local PetsDomain a few days ago and was chatting with the sales assistant there, who is also involved in Wildlife Rescue. She was helping another customer determine the best food to buy to encourage the Magpies, who warble so beautifully in the mornings. Interestingly, the answer was "fishy cat food", because most bird foods are grain-based - which is great for many birds, but not for meat-eaters like magpies, crows, seagulls etc.
In any event, the interesting thing that I wanted to pass along is that a bread-only diet is terribly bad for birds, as it can cause gout. Later that evening, in a different suburb, I saw a pigeon that could not walk, but could only shuffle and hop a little by using its wings. It was terribly tragic to watch, and given that I saw the bird outside a shopping centre, I can only guess that it lives on a diet of fast food scraps - an improper diet for anyone! Just wanted to share this, because often you see signs like "bread for ducks" - when bread is probably the last thing they need! - Thank you M for these next
