- Was reading the Whirlpool forums and apparently Maccas is rolling out free wifi at 710 of their restaurants nationwide. The catch is that you have to watch a 2 min flash video and answer a question for each 30 mins of wifi.
Keep an eye on freewifi.com.au to see when your local gets free wifi, which will happen in the following order:
* NSW/ACT Mid October to to late November
(8 NSW restaurants have already got the free wifi)
* VIC/TAS Late November to late December
* QLD/NT Late December to late January
* SA/WA Late January to late February
- In the past, I have recommended TinyPDF as a great, fast, free way to create small-sized PDF documents from any Windows program. I still recommend that program, but had a nasty experience with the www.tinypdf.com website recently. I clicked to download the program, and got a whole other program - "MagicPDF Pro". Turns out that TinyPDF has been sold to MagicPDF, who have kept the TinyPDF website but uploaded their own files - but with file names suggesting you are getting TinyPDF, when you are not! And MagicPDF is NOT free - they expect you to pay for it! And the TinyPDF staff have been laid off, poor sods! So ... I still recommend TinyPDF, but now suggest you get it from pretty much anywhere else (Download.Com is a good place to try)!

- Apologies for the lack of updates, which was due to a spot of ill health. In other news, I've updated all the backgrounds to reflect forthcoming Halloween next week. And my dad turns 75 THIS week! So it's a big week personally for the OzFree family!
- AC Nielsen have a program available for Aussies, called Homescan. I was a member of this for a couple of years, and it was very easy and worthwhile - I only stopped because it wasn't compatible with my VirginBroadband.
What happens is they'll send you a hand-held scanner designed to read barcodes on groceries that you buy. It only takes a few minutes to scan before putting your purchases away. Then, once a week, the scanner transmits your purchase data to them (free of charge). By doing so, you earn points, which can be redeemed for rewards. They also have a free small Christmas gift, usually sent in November, and monthly or bi-monthly competitions. To join, click below!
