AC Nielsen have a program available for Aussies, called Homescan. I was a member of this for a couple of years, and it was very easy and worthwhile - I only stopped because it wasn't compatible with my VirginBroadband.
What happens is they'll send you a hand-held scanner designed to read barcodes on groceries that you buy. It only takes a few minutes to scan before putting your purchases away. Then, once a week, the scanner transmits your purchase data to them (free of charge). By doing so, you earn points, which can be redeemed for rewards. They also have a free small Christmas gift, usually sent in November, and monthly or bi-monthly competitions. Aussies, click the banner above to join.

Colmar Brunton is a market research site for Aussies and Kiwis. I've never done an offline survey or focus group for Colmar Brunton but I've heard they are very professional and yet still fun.

 Fascinating new (to me in 2008) market research site. It's a "Focus Group" site similar to the offline (real world) market research you may have attended in the past ... but completed ONLINE using a web-cam!
You can earn A$30-$50 an hour, sometimes more, just for joining in an online video-conference with five or six other people, run by a professional moderator, and sharing your views on anything from things you buy to new products that client companies are thinking of launching.

They'll then help you to determine whether your internet connection is fast enough, will suggest where you might get a good quality headset and webcam (if you don't already have one), and will explain how to set up your computer for the research sessions.

They tend to send a couple of surveys a year. Don't forget to join one of their "Subpanels" (available from their site once you have signed up for the main panel) for a greater chance of receiving a survey.
Subpanels include: Small Office/Home Office (SOHO), IT/Office Equipment Decision Makers, Harris Advisors on Health and Well-being (formerly called Chronic Illness), Harris Zone & Harris KidZone, Video Clips, and Product, Advertising, & Concept Testing.
For each survey you complete, you will be rewarded with HI Points -- you get 200 points just for signing up, and you can redeem from 1000 points. They also have sweepstakes, but these appear to be awarded only to Americans. For some unknown reason, in September 2001 HarrisPoll sent me a free mouse pad. Maybe it was in relation to a survey I had taken. Anyway it was an unexpected and lovely surprise!

The evaluation was fun and easy to complete and the Gift Voucher was awarded within 24 hours. Needless to say, I'm a big fan of Keynote!
